Parental Rights

To apply for parental benefits, the following conditions must be met:

1. When the worker leaves Canada, their child must be under 11 months old.
2. The worker must have accumulated at least 600 hours of work before leaving Canada.
3. The worker must have a valid Social Insurance Number before leaving Canada.
4. The worker must be caring for their child upon returning to their home country. The worker is not allowed to work during the period when they are receiving parental benefits.
